Interact with Animals in Temple Terrace

There are many different animals for kids and adults to play with! Let’s take a look at those animals which you can get the closest to:

Rhinoceros. Native of Africa, one of the largest animals that currently exists. They are herbivores (do not eat meat), have small brains, and possess very protective skin. Humans kill rhinos for their horns, which are then sold on the black market.

Tortoise. Known for their magnificent shell, which is fused to both their spine and ribcage, tortoises are the longest known living animal. They can live up to 255 years! They are also notorious for digging and possess a very small brain for their size.

Giraffe. The tallest animal on Earth, the giraffe is known for their unique coat and very long neck. They eat leaves, fruits and flowers without much competition from other shorter animals. They are common prey for lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and African wild dogs.

Lorikeet. They are small to medium-sized parrots characterized by their rainbow coat and their tongues for feeding on nectar of various blossoms and soft fruits, especially berries. They are natives of Australia.

Wallaby. From Australia and New Guinea and cousins of the kangaroo, wallabies are sometimes called rock-wallabies because they live among rocks and caves, usually near water. They are hunted for their meat and fur.

This and more animals can be seen at the Zoo. Check out the “animal” section on their website.
